The Seminary Run now in its sixth consecutive year was formally launched on October 31, 2011 at the seminary social hall as kick off for the Run itself on November 27, 2011. This has been an annual activity of The Cebu Archdiocesan Major Seminary Foundation (CAMSFI) in partnership with some generous companies and institutions as one of its initiatives not only to help finance its on-going building renovation but to make people aware as well of the needs of the seminary.
This year’s launching was attended to by some media partners, sponsors, seminarians, some priest-formators particularly Fr. Lito Tulipas, the Procurator, Fr. Ramon Echica, the Dean of Studies and Msgr. Guillermo Gorre, the Seminary Rector. For the first time, it was also graced by no less than the Archbishop of Cebu, His Excellency Jose S. Palma, D.D., S.T.D. Msgr. Gorre, in his message, highlighted the needs of the seminary as the main reason for the Run in which he also stressed the fact that the participants, the partners and the people in general are also considered as co-formators in the process.
Archbishop Palma also emphasized the noble cause of the Run and encouraged everybody to be involved in it to help form the seminarians, the future clergy not only in Cebu but in the neighboring Dioceses as well. Thus, it was concluded with a hope for many people’s response and participation.
