Run for Rice 2011 @ Quirino Grandstand – December 3, 2011

| comments

Run for Rice will be held on December 3, 2011 at the Quirino Grandstand.  Run for Rice is one of the activities for the National Rice Awareness Month led by the Philippine Rice Research Institute through its Save Rice, Save Lives Movement.

The run aims to convey a very important issue: rice conservation. A Food and Nutrition Research Institute study noted every Filipino wastes 2 tbsp of rice daily. Economic value of said wastage is PhP 5.3 B, enough to feed close to three million hungry Filipinos in a year. So here we are, reaching out to all rice eaters to join us in our advocacy to conserve rice.
