The Provincial Government of Laguna, under the dynamic leadership of Governor Jeorge “E.R.” Ejercito Estregan, will be celebrating its second La Laguna Festival: The Festival of Life with the theme “Uno Progreso… Una sa Saya, Buhay Laguna!” on April 20-29, 2012. Awarded last year as the Best Tourism Event of the Year in the Province Category by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP), the La Laguna Festival will once again showcase Laguna’s rich culture and will feature various recreational sports events and competitions that will confirm Laguneños’ passion for life and sports.
This year the Provincial Sports and Games Development Office (PSGDO) will be organizing the First La Laguna Festival Half- Marathon which will happen on April 29, 2012. The La Laguna Festival “SAVE LAGUNA LAKE RUN 2012” shall benefit the Laguna Lake Rehabilitation Program and the province’s young and talented athletes. This highly anticipated event and probably one of the biggest provincial half-marathons this year is expected to draw local and international runners as the race course is set through the enchanting, verdant, and historic towns of Lumban, Pagsanjan, and Sta. Cruz. This route will highlight the refreshing waters and challenging terrains of Laguna and will definitely provide an adventure that the usual urban marathon cannot offer.
