PhilHealth Nationwide Run 2013 @ Davao City – February 17, 2013

PhilHealth Regional Office XI will be conducting the PhilHealth Nationwide Run 2013 in Davao City, the largest city in the island of Mindanao and the country's largest in terms of land area. The assembly and starting point will be at SM City Davao, Ecoland. Going northeast on the first stretch, the runners will take a route on major roads of the city, namely: Tulip Drive, McArthur Highway, Ma-a and Diversion Roads and return through the same route finishing at SM City Davao, Ecoland. The 18k route features turning around Davao Crocodile Park, a major tourist destination located at the Riverfront, Corporate City Diversion Highway, Ma-a, Davao City.

Proceeds of the run will go to the benefit of PhilHealth Run's National beneficiary, the Philippine Children's Medical Center and the regional beneficiary, Southern Philippines Medical Center Children’s Cancer Center and Blood Diseases Unit. Also known as "Kids of Hope", this is an organization about children with cancer from Mindanao at Southern Philippines Medical Center and the people who care for them. These kids are young patients who have exuded great courage in the battle against terrible disease and became symbols of hope. They were also the beneficiaries for the first ever simultaneous run in Mindanao dubbed PhilHealth Run: The Mindanao Run for Hope last February 5, 2012.
